I got DSL, so gag me with a salami.
I feel a little behind on the times. What do you think?

highlight of my weekend [Mar. 21st, 2006|09:52 am]
[Current Mood |cheerfulcheerful]

I volunteered to walk a dog at an animal shelter yesterday, when the weather was nice. Her name is Francis. She's a seven-year-old Doberman mutt. Very quiet, didn't bark at all. I took her out for a bit and we walked up and down the streets. She tugged a lot, but otherwise was well behaved. One time she sat on a street corner and wouldn't move until I gave her a lot of behind-the-ear scratching.

There may be more volunteer dog-walking in my future. It's more fun than walking the streets alone.

Oh snap, I just realized that Mardi Gras ended!
How did I manage to miss out on all the fun?
And without my knowledge.

This tax prep software is asking if I'm blind. I think I've found a bug.

the back seat [Feb. 21st, 2006|11:15 am]
[Current Mood |nauseatednauseated]

The condom wrappers on the sidewalk don't bother me as much as the used condoms in the back seat of the bus.

Not all rice is white.

Not all bears shit in the woods.

The Pope isn't Italian.

My college bulletin has two pages on sexual harassment and one paragraph on academic dishonesty.

Happy Valentine's Day!! [Feb. 14th, 2006|01:52 pm]
[Current Mood |amusedamused]

Marazatti compared lovers' serotonin levels with those of a group of people suffering from OCD and another group who were free from both passion and mental illness. Levels of serotonin in both the obsessives' blood and the lovers' blood were 40 percent lower than those in her normal subjects...Love and obsessive-compulsive disorder could have a similar chemical profile...Love and mental illness may be difficult to tell apart...Don't be a fool. Stay away.

This Valentine's Day message is brought to you by National Geographic, the Official Journal of the National Geographic Society.

Yesterday, a family was moving out of my building and threw away a teenage girl's CD collection. A lot of it is bubblegum pop, but there was a copy of In Utero, which I didn't have. Lots of Madonna albums, Britney Spears (guilty pleasure), Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morrisette, Alicia Keys, Shakira, J Lo, Christina Aguilera, etc. Christmas came early this year. Inventory to follow.

I did a lot of housekeeping today. I found an unexpired MetroCard (pay-per-ride), an unactivated credit card from August, and my copy of Green Eggs and Ham.

The sexual innuendo in Green Eggs and Ham is something else.

Somebody should give me a high-five for figuring out how to use a picture as my journal background.
